Yes I think it was a good idea because I think it gave purpose to why Krakauer was really writing about Chris's life and gave us insight to how he was able to compare himself to the character. It forced me to try to find similarities between my and life and Chris's and helped change my opinion toward the novel. After reading farther into the book I realized that Chris really was doing sometime that made him feel successful and accomplished. My opinion completely changed from thinking Chris was crazy to being inspired from his actions.

Yeah, those chapters helped to bring a lot of insight about what Chris might have been thinking.
ReplyDeleteI agree, these chapters allowed me to see that Chris was not completely reckless and that he had a balance of meaning and recklessness
ReplyDeleteI agree that these chapters do make it easier to draw a comparison between Chris and Krakauer and also that they do give an "in" to connect with the book.
